So... How would a white person begin a dialog about race without being portrayed as racist? If a white person were to say “Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.” Where would you be on the "N" word?
Since Wright has opened this can of worms up for discussion it seems to me that he should be willing to take some measure of criticism.

Where you say "But none of the mainstream criticism of Wright is willing to take his arguments on their own terms"

What is the point of "taking an argument" if the argument is simply an outright lie? Like aids (etc.)

It also occures to me that Wright is not exactly looking to solve any race problems he might have through discission with a "god damn America" attitude.

I think you have overthought the issue in trying to excuse Wright and Obama and come up with some apologist ideas that do not wash. I also believe you give too much credit to Wright's intelligence. Did he really think his hate mongering, so called sermon, would do his student Obama any good?

I think the guy is simply a frustrated idiot. A rich black idiot is no different than any other idiot! except to some he is like an Uncle.

Doubtful one
